Youth Development through Golf
throughout the Oakland Area

Welcome! The First Tee of Oakland is a life skills program which builds the character of youth to help them succeed in life. We make the game of golf accessible to all youth, regardless of background.

Participants learn to appreciate diversity, resolve conflicts, build confidence and set goals for their future. Our life skills curriculum focuses on four life skills categories – interpersonal skills, self-management, goal-setting, and resilience skills – and Nine Core Values – honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment.
